Raining Cats and Cats
16Feb19
I had some leftover chicken from yesterday's meal and wanted to be sure and give some to the kitties. This morning, somewhat bright --okay grey and early -- I went down to feed the ferals. As I started down the stairs, I heard the woman who hates cats talking in the hall. The last thing I need is for her to yell at me for feeding the cats.
I went back inside, got the trash, and braved my way down the stairs. She was actually in her apartment talking with the door open, so I needed have worried. Once downstairs, no cats. I took out the trash and Dum-dum appeared. I fed Dum-dum and here comes Sausagette and Cinnamon. Feed those guys. We're sort of in an alcove away from the rain. So it's all good.
I can't ignore my brats. I go out in the rain seeking Mask and Patch. Mask comes and I give her some chickie. No Patch. I make my way back to the apartment and Patch comes tearing through the bushes. I find a place out of the rain to feed Patch.
Back at the apartment, I'm greeted by the ones I already fed. I have some leftover food so I feed them. I hear this cat yowling in the hall like it's being tortured. I'm thinking, My G-d, that cat hater is hurting Licorice. But then here comes Licorice trotting down the stairs, meowing totally different than the yowls I heard in the hall. Not sure if that was Licorice or what.
They must know that woman hates them and are afraid to go past her open door. When I went back up her door was closed.
