Feeding Feral Felines is a Challenge

24Feb19

They all claim to be starving. They all want to be fed first. They all want what's in the feed bag. They all want something different.

They think if they nag me enough, I'll give into their demands -- and it kind of works.

Patch actually came upstairs this morning, and quick ran back down when I opened the door. Patch used to let everyone bully her, but now she's asserting dominance over the Sausage gang -- three now.

I confirmed that Bandit was adopted, which makes me both glad and sad. Bandit has a good home, but she doesn't get to be the gang ringleader anymore and she can't see her siblings. I don't get to see her anymore either. But she has a good home, so she's fine, and the rest of the gang are fine without her.

Poor Sausage is walking with a limp. We don't know what happened. Sometimes she'll follow me up and I'll give her a whole can of sardines and encourage her to take a nap. At one time, she wanted to make our house her permanent home but Charlie scared her away. Now she only comes up when it's safe and Charlie is outside.

The other day she was in when Charlie came home. I tried to get her but she managed to crawl under the couch. She was growling at Charlie who, for once, really didn't start anything. We had to move the couch to get her gone and she was stiffed up and snarling at me. Poor Sausage. She's been limping for over a week now.

  1. Since Sherman died, it has been easier to feed two cats. But Chica is still a very particular kitty!
