Kitty Sitting
3Oct18
It is interesting that the entire colony seems to have banded together to help take care of Sausage's kittens. We call Sausage Pestilence now, by the way, but for this blog I'll continue to call her Sausage. She's become Pestilence because she makes a HUGE pest of herself and comes up whenever she sees us. She has this loud meow like she's saying, "OW! OW!" in great pain. GG hates her, because she had the audacity to use his litter box that he rarely used and hasn't used at all since she touched it. She makes herself right at home and insists on either meowing or eating and wanders around looking for places to hide her next litter of kittens.
The old cat hater woman got after me the other day when she saw me feeding the ferals. "How many cats do you want around here?" she demanded. I tried to explain they needed to be fixed but she just wanted to complain without any solutions. This morning she was coming down while I was feeding the guys, and I took the opportunity to go around the corner and wait until she was gone. I didn't want to be harangued by her yet again.
Anyway, Loper is hanging around. This morning I fed her, and she let one of Sausage's kittens eat her food. Scrap, the father, is hanging around. Bag, apparently another male figure in their lives in hanging around. Fluffy doesn't do much care giving, but she did tell Sausage about the sardines and food in the hall.
I no longer keep food in the hall because Sausage was hogging it all for herself and her babies. GG was too scared to come up and down. GG is sort of an outsider in the colony. He must realize if he does anything to those kittens he's going to get a full onslaught of adult cats on his ass. That would scare me too.
Patch and Mask are about sick of the kittens. They're tired of those damn kittens coming before everybody else. Patch hissed and swiped at one of them this morning. Who could blame her.
