Cat Food

18July18

This is the second day in a row Sausage hasn't been around. Don't know if she has had her kittens or what. David keeps warning me not to get attached, but they're so cute I can't help it.

The four regulars have been around. I keep telling Patch to come upstairs and get a sardine, but she will only go up a flight or two, freak out and run back down. Not sure what is going on with her.

We went back and purchased a ton of the cheap-o grocery store brand cat food. That was a huge mistake. One of the reasons we were trying different brands is because the cats don't like it. We went to a pet store and asked about one of their least expensive brands. The sales guy explained why cheap cat food is so bad. It is made primarily of corn. Well, cats don't eat corn so they put some flavoring in there and add the kitty version of sugar, which happens to be salt, so the cats will eat it. Well, all that salt is bad for kitties and hurts their kidneys.

Well, we looked at the ingredients of GG's expensive cat food, and guess what the first ingredient was? Yep, corn. Well, today I bought some more dry food and made sure the first ingredient was meat. Second ingredient -- corn.

There has to be a better way to feed these guys.

And I'm really worried about Sausage. I hope the regulars didn't chase her off.
