Cats are So Petty
15Jun18
When I went down to feed the cats this morning, GG was still downstairs. I heard him meow, but he didn't come up. At the ground floor I saw why, Fluffy, Bag, Patch, and Mask were blocking his way clamouring around trying to get fed first. I went and petted GG, told him I'd take care of the guys and feed him upstairs.
First, I fed Bag. Fluffy tried to eat out of his bowl, but I wouldn't let her, and put some food in for her in the nearby plastic bowl. She must have been starving because she didn't follow me around. I went around the corner and fed Patch and Mask. Sausage appeared from the bushes wanting to be fed first. Well, Mask doesn't like Sausage and especially resents her, I got a good look and didn't see any -- you know -- and no clipped ear so female.
Well anyway, I fed Patch and Mask then fed Sausage. But Mask was mad and wouldn't eat. She left her food and Cinnamon came out of nowhere to eat it. Then there's this other cat that wanted some too. I put down another pile for Patch and tried to convince Mask to come back and eat but she just scampered away. She's all upset because she can't stand Sausage. Whatever.
When I headed back for the building, I saw black Scrap and Loper waiting on the lawn. Bag and Fluffy were still eating. Scrap may be intimidating but nobody, no one intimidates Bag. GG was crouched ready to attack Scrap who could have cared less. Loper is really hanging out with a bad crowd. If she was a teenager she'd be loitering about in front of a liquor store smoking cigs and trying to get an adult to buy her and her guy some beer. So I fed Loper and put some food down for Scrap.
GG was still in attack position. I picked him up and headed him for the stairs. He turned around back to attack Scrap. I put down the food and picked him up again and put him on the stairs. Prodded him up to the first level, bag of food in one hand. He wanted to turn back, so I had to put the food down and pick him up and get him started on the next flight of stairs. Retrieve the food and prod him up. I had to do this all the way back to the apartment. Fluffy followed. Once inside, GG didn't even seem to be hungry. I put food in the hall for Fluffy and called it done.
