Friday Feeding
1Jun18
This morning I was greeted by the fab four downstairs. Well, Fluffy met me halfway, but since I now have to carry down fresh water along with the food because the outdoor spigot was turned off, it is too difficult to trudge back up balancing the water and big bag of cat food.
Fluffy, as usual, has to have her nose in everybody's food. So I fed Bag and Fluffy started to eat it. Then I went over by the tree to feed Loper and Fluffy had to follow. When I turned around, GG was sniffing at Bag's food. I told GG to cut it out, he had food upstairs.
With Bag and Loper eating, I go around the corner to feed the brats, and who is there? Grey Scrap. Someone had given him a can of soft cat food and he was eating daring anyone to pass him. Mask, who is a big fraidy cat flew past to the spot where I always feed them. I put her down some food, and the new guy was crying for something too.
He's been coming around the past three days and looks a lot like Patch, white with black patches. Except this guy's black isn't as splotchy and instead of a black patch over one eye and white face, he has a black head and both bright green eyes are half covered. I'll have to get his picture. Anyway he usually darts away as I feed him, hides in the bushes and meows all pathetic. But this morning he hung around by my hand waiting for food. He's still a kitten maybe a year old.
I got him fed, and Patch is afraid to go past Grey Scrap and Fluffy disappeared. I fed Patch in a different spot so he wouldn't have to take any scary risks with a Scrap attack. Fluffy was hiding in the bushes. I coaxed her out and we went upstairs. I gave her a sardine for the effort. GG came and so I encouraged Fluffy to eat outside. And now GG is lying in his new spot on the coffee table.
He's still mad about the vet. He uses our resources: food, water, petting, a safe place to sleep; but he's not really showing us any affection like getting close and snuggling. I think he's traumatized for life.

GG is really “ mad” for taking him to the vet. He must be a very smart cat to still hold a grudge! He will get over it!
