What has been working is for GG to live with us. He comes in early eats and sleeps for most of the morning. Then, when I go downstairs to feed the cats, meet Fluffy midway down and guide her back upstairs to the food. All that is left is Bag and the brats and sometimes Cinnamon.
Today GG wanted to go outside when I fed the others. He was mad because we weren't letting him drink running water from the faucet. He and I go downstairs and Fluffy comes up. I feed everybody and go back upstairs. I'm making breakfast, and I hear this yeowling going on outside. I just had a feeling.
I went downstairs and sure enough, GG and a big cat are at it. I couldn't find any rocks to toss in their direction, so I just went in to break it up. Well, they attacked each other and fur flew. I told them to stop it, they separated and went at each other again. But this time I was able to break them up. I shooed the other cat away, and went after GG. He was hopping mad. I wanted to steer him upstairs but he ran and hid in the bushes instead.
Later that morning I had to run an errand. GG met me on the stairs ready to go up. I let him in then trudged back down to the store. Patch greeted me and he let me pet him a little, not much, just a little. When I came back, Patch was ready to follow me upstairs, except Bag was hiding in the bushes. He came out and blocked Patch's way. It was almost as if Bag is guarding the stairway so only Fluffy can come up with me. No Patch.
Back upstairs, GG seems half okay. I don't think he was bit but he lost a little fur around the neck. I don't know what to do about this -- we can't afford to have the vet coming over every week. Oy.
