Everybody's back to their bad habits

15Mar18

Lately, no one is greeting me at in the mornings. I have to call for them, and maybe they come, maybe they don't. Growler hasn't been around for a long time and I wouldn't be surprised if she died sometime during the winter. It's possible my ferals are taking over her territory. She seemed like she was fed quite well.

Haven't seen Bag for a few days. He was very regular for awhile. Fluffy and Mask or Patch, but lately not both will come barreling out of the bushes when I call. Fluffy has taken to putting her nose in everybody else's food, and I have to stand quietly until she becomes interested in food. She still walks with a slight limp. She won't let me get close enough to examine her.

Sometimes I try to feed them something special instead of the same old cat food. We have some meat in the freezer that has been there too long. David was afraid to eat it, so I cooked it up and fed it to the cats. GG is funny about food, but I gave him some upstairs and he acted like he didn't want it.

This afternoon on our veggie run, Calico chased me across the street. I absolutely forget to bring any food for her. She waited on the bench until I got back and I still didn't have any food for her. So I promised I would come back down with something. When I returned with the meat I cooked up the other day, she was still waiting on the bench. She liked it. I also gave the regulars some pieces, and I had given GG some earlier in the day upstairs.

Well, GG was downstairs and he wanted some too. I was out of food and GG wanted some too. He gave me this pathetic look and he was going up to the others trying to take their food. I told him to come upstairs and I'd give him something special, but he wouldn't come. I hope he's not mad at me. Ever since the mystery event that happened to Fluffy, I really hate to have him outside, but he insists.
