Always an Adventure
2Feb18
Yesterday we did a million back and forths, and of course all the cats wanted to be fed each and every time. On Thursdays when we go to the butcher, I have started buying some fresh chicken livers to give to the cats for a pre-Shabbat meal. Calico had been bugging me and followed me across the street into enemy territory. When she saw some other cats hissing at her, she backed off. I promised her a liver when I got back. Same with Fluffy, I promised her one too.
When I got back, there was no Calico and no Fluffy. I saw Sad Sack hanging around with mini-GG -- a kitten that looks an awful lot like our GG Loudmouth. I gave them each a liver. Sad Sack was right on it, but mini-GG got all confused and wanted to eat Sad Sack's and couldn't find the one I gave him. I reached in between them to get the other piece, Sad Sack backed off with the liver in his/her mouth -- maybe Sad Sack is the mom -- I don't know. I picked up the other piece and threw it right at mini-GG. Hopefully they got it figured out. Cats do not know how to share.
I gave the sentry -- aka the brats -- each a piece of liver of which they were extremely grateful. I'm calling them the sentry now because they patrol and control that sidewalk. When I got home, I gave GG a piece of raw chicken filet because he won't eat it cooked and he hates liver just like me.
This morning, bright and early, I went to Emu. We call the grocery store Supersol, because one time I bought what I thought were chicken wings, but I didn't have my glasses on and it turned out they were these big huge bird wings that maybe was turkey but it didn't taste like any turkey I ever had. So we thought maybe it was some strange non-kosher bird like Emu and we've been calling the store that ever since -- maybe as a reminder not to buy chicken wings there.
Well anyway, I needed a few things for dinner and wanted to get there before the crowd, and left with dry cat food and chicken liver to feed everybody. I was greeted by the brats and I gave them each a liver. Yum-yum. Plus some dry cat food which they didn't each and still hadn't touched when I got back.
So I fed them and go around the corner and see Sad Sack and mini-GG. Sad Sack recognises me and walks up. Not only is Sad Sack missing an eye, Sad Sack walks with a limp. Poor thing. I gave both of them a piece of liver and there's just a tiny piece left for Calico. I finally see her working the bus stop, and she sees me and I give her the rest.
On the way back from the store, Calico wants more, but I don't have more. She follows me deep into brat territory and they want more. Oy. If they were really hungry, they could eat the dry food. But no, I have them spoiled on chicken liver. There was still a lot of food in the plastic dish I set out for them. Bag was around the corner and I gave him the dry food, but was all out of the good stuff. Fluffy wasn't around.

I can’t wait to come to visit you, share and observe the feeding especially before Shabbat! BTW I do like baby beef liver, but unable to find it fresh here!
