Winter is here
5Jan18
It's been raining cats and dogs, mostly dogs and the cats are hiding. This morning I was going to meet a lady friend for coffee and took down cat food as I left. I put a bunch in a dish enough for everyone except no one was about.
Well, except for Fluffy. In spite of the rain, she seemed surprisingly dry. GG goes out in the rain for less than half an hour and comes back soaked. I put down food for her and called for the brats. Only Fluffy. She was too nervous to eat. I stood trying to convince her to settle down and waited until she started eating. Walked away. She followed.
I put down more food and waited for her to stop pacing and settle into eating. Once she was eating, I walked away. Fluffy followed completely out of her territory. I was about to turn around and lead her back to her territory when she became distracted by Calicos nearly full-grown children. I guess you could call them teenagers now. Or young adults. I took advantage of her distraction and continued on to meet my friend.
Coming home, I saw no one. I have some good chicken livers they would like to eat but like I said the cats are hiding from the rain.
The rain should stop later today, and then usually there's a cold snap of a week or two, then winter is over. In February, spring begins.
