Over complicating the simple

This morning as I went out to feed the cats, GG darted out. He didn't bug everyone as I fed them though. I need to calm Fluffy down and get her interested in eating before feeding the brats. It was just the three this morning. Haven't seen Bag and Loper for a couple of days.
Then I went out to the ladies lunch and naturally I was followed along the sidewalk by Patch and Fluffy. I bought some tasty purse-size snacks and gave them each a piece. While they were eating I hurried away to the bus stop.
The bus stop is Calico's territory. I went through her territory four times today and didn't see her once. I bought her some tasty chicken hearts too.
Well, I go down to feed them hearts which I know they love. GG is outside and demands to be fed first. I give him one even though I know he won't eat it. Go around the corner and attempt to feed Fluffy and the brats. Mask is good. Put food in front of her, she eats. What's more she is able to find food placed out even if it isn't directly in front of her.
Patch and Fluffy are another matter. Fluffy wants to put her nose into everybody's food and that makes Patch think all of it is hers. Once her nose is in something, he thinks he can't have it. Mask isn't like that. If the food is free, she owns it. So I give Fluffy a heart and then try to feed the brats. But Fluffy has to follow me around and so I feed Fluffy again, and toss over a heart for Patch. Patch sees GG and won't touch it. Now these guys love fresh chicken hearts and they still get finicky about who eats what.
I put out enough hearts for everyone and left them to their own devices. I tried to convince GG to come upstairs with me and he sort of lumbers up, and stops at the second level to look down at Fluffy and intimidate her from coming any further. These cats just complicate the simple, I'm pulling out my hair!
