Happiness is Feeding Kitties
30Dec17
David and I made a short excursion over the holidays. I knew the cats would be fine, but it was still hard to leave them. I left out a whole bunch of food for them, and I mean a ton, and it was gone when I got back. Either those guys eat a lot or dogs got to the food. I tried to put in places a dog couldn't get to especially if on a leash.
GG knew we were going and probably thought we would never come back and acted like he wanted to come with us. He gets nervous with any hint of change.
David was thinking GG might be mad, cold, and aloof when we got back. Or maybe our neighbor might have tried to lure him in and he would be like, "I have a new home now, I don't need you and your sardines." But she didn't. I left a lot of food by our door for him, that only he would know about (water too), and he ate a little, but it was basically untouched.
We came home yesterday afternoon, and I was greeted by GG. He was very glad to see us. On my second trip from the car going upstairs, Fluffy greeted me too. She followed me to the apartment. GG was eating at his bowl. He looked up and glared at Fluffy, who then decided she didn't want to hang around after all.
GG slept all afternoon and wanted to go out in the evening.
He returned early in the morning as usual. Later, around 7:30 am, I went down to feed the others. I was greeted by Fluffy and took time to pet her. Went down and was greeted by Bag. Fed him and he allowed a gentle stroke of his fur. Patch and Growler were around, put food down for Growler. Went around the corner to feed Patch and up comes Mask. Fluffy, of course, following. Fed the brats and Fluffy, but Fluffy followed me back toward the apartment.
She would have come up except she and Growler were having a bit of a stand-off. Then one of the kids who lives on the lower floor came out and all the cats scattered. So I went upstairs in peace. Nice to have things back to normal.

Isn't it nice to be so loved!
