Small Steps

This morning, I fed the cats no problem because (a) GG was inside, and (b) Fluffy wasn't around. Neither was Loper, but her kitten was there.

I fed Bag, and told him David really likes him and thinks he's a beautiful cat and he's welcome to come upstairs anytime. Then I fed the kitten, went around the corner and fed the brats. When I come back Growler is eating kitten's food. So I put him some more in another dish. He's merrily chomping away. For some reason, Bag quit his own food and took interest in kitten's food. Bag just stood there staring -- which is what Bag does best -- and kitten is still chomping away. Then kitten looked up and saw Bag and backed away.

This afternoon we went to the grocery store. When I had barely locked the door, GG came upstairs wanting inside, I let him in and close the door, only to hear this loud meow. I checked back in on him, he was upset because there wasn't enough food in his bowl. It had been eaten in the middle but there was still plenty on the sides. I shook the bowl so there was food on the bottom and he was happy. Locked him in and we went on our way.

On the way back, Fluffy greeted me. She lay on my feet and made me pet her. David pointed out that Bag was staring at me doing this. Then here come the brats, and I realized I had to feed everybody. Fluffy followed me upstairs to fetch the food. She loves weaving in and out my legs and nearly tripped me going back down.

I fed Fluffy. She was really hungry, she started in on her food and didn't bother anybody. I fed Bag, and then went around the corner to feed Patch and Mask. Except Bag was curious about me and lay down on the sidewalk. He actually let me stroke him twice before he freaked and got back up. Bag followed and ate his meal around the corner with the Brats.

Maybe Bag liked the nice things I said to him this morning. Maybe Bag likes it because now I'm calling him Bag-arama. Or maybe Bag is taking his cue from Fluffy who loves being petted and hasn't turned into a toad or anything.

  1. If and when you get a chance, take a picture of each cat labeled with their name! And post ! I know GG looks like Trouble!
