Back to Normal

The rain stopped and the weather warmed. Yesterday and this morning, closer to 8am, I went out to feed the cats. All of them present and accounted for: Fluffy, Bag, Loper and her kitten, Growler, and the brats. Every morning Fluffy has to follow me while I feed all the others and put her nose in everybody's food to see what they have. I have tried feeding her first to keep her occupied, but am thinking simply feeding her last since the likelihood is high she will follow me upstairs anyway. She prefers to eat in the hall and is too nervous to stay inside our apartment for long.

GG is pretty much David's cat. He wants to be with him. Unfortunately, David is allergic, so he's been wearing a protective mask when GG comes too close. With the windows shut down, the place isn't getting as much circulation so David is having an episode, and poor GG has to settle for snuggling with me.

For two nights it was cold and he slept upstairs with us. He's not a good night cat. In the middle of the night he'll want something and meow real loud. Inside voice, use your inside voice.

Last night he went outside and a friend of mine came over at the exact same time GG wanted back in. Even though she likes cats, GG couldn't handle it and stayed outside. He meowed so loud one of the neighbors came out and asked if he needed to be fed. She asked if he was my cat, and I explained he's not my cat, he adopted us. I should have said he came up to our apartment one day and basically said, "I live here now."

GG wouldn't come in last night until I heard him at 3am. I let him in and he was good for awhile but wanted back outside about 5am. Then when I fed the others, he wouldn't come upstairs. Instead, he remained outside all upset because I'm feeding the other cats the expensive cat food he won't touch. When David came home he witnessed GG snarling at Growler and chasing her into the bushes. I have a nice little sardine waiting for him too, but no, GG has to protect his feeders from other cats even though I've explained to him there's enough love and food to go around. Oh, the only water GG wants to drink is when it is streaming directly from the faucet.
