The Gentle Giant has Turned into a Monster

Mon 16Oct17

GG comes in when David takes his morning walk. If I'm still lingering in bed, he'll hop in with me and I have to stroke him to calm him down. If I'm up and doing stuff in the kitchen he gets all agitated like this morning. When David came back, I got ready to go down and feed the cats. Because I was busy in the kitchen, GG wanted to go outside, but I didn't dare let him out because he makes trouble for all the other feeders.

I thought GG had settled on David's desk, but when I opened the door to go, he darted out and ran downstairs. I was carrying a bag of trash and the cat food. When I got down, GG was facing off with Bag. Well, Bag doesn't back down and he's not afraid to take anyone on. Fluffy was rubbing around my ankles.

In order to feed the regulars, I needed to get GG back upstairs. I put everything and picked up GG. He was only moderately passive in my arms. Well, Fluffy -- who he hates -- followed me upstairs. I took GG to the bedroom and stayed with him until Fluffy decided to leave. She's real skittish and left fairly quickly. With GG secure in the house, I was able to go back downstairs and feed the cats.

To my surprise, they hadn't ransacked the cat food bag, it was untouched on the chair where I left it. I fed everyone. It turned out Patch was the best behaved one of the bunch this morning. There was no Mask.

Coming back this evening, I met Mask en route. She told me she was hungry. I told her Patch missed her. Patch came tearing out of the bushes. I told them I had to go upstairs and get some food and would come back down to feed them. GG was upstairs, so I closed the door. When I opened the door, Patch was waiting in the hall. We went downstairs and met up with Mask who immediately attacked her brother. She must have been starving because she usually lets Patch eat first, but this evening she got first dibs.

Came back upstairs and much to my surprise, GG who seems to be upset with me for feeding the other cats, came and sat with me on the chair. It's so nice to have a cat around the house.
