Fluffy and GG getting along -- sort of

Monday 23Oct17

Mornings have calmed down somewhat as far as cat feedings as long as it goes as follows:

GG in the house and fed
David takes walk
GG eats again
David comes back sits at computer and pets GG
I go down to feed the cats
Meet Fluffy
Fluffy follows me upstairs
Close the door so GG will leave Fluff alone
While Fluffy eats, go back down and feed the rest
Feed Bag
Feed Loper and Kitten
Toss food out to Growler
Follow brats around the corner
Feed Patch
Feed Mask
Patch takes Mask's food
Mask won't eat Patch's food.
Feed Mask again.
Hurry back upstairs and pet Fluffy
Wait for Fluffy to leave
Close door because you don't dare close the door with Fluffy inside unless you want a freaked out cat
Let GG out of locked room, even though GG was with David and petted the whole time
Soothe GG explaining that there's food for everyone
Get on with the day

Afternoons are a different matter. The best way to handle afternoons is to not go out, but that's not always possible. This afternoon Fluffy followed me upstairs. She has this tendency to walk between my legs. I'll bend down and pet her and she sits on my feet.

She came upstairs and I gave her a little salmon as a reward for coming upstairs, the next thing I knew GG is behind me wanting some too. I gave him some and they tolerated each other's presence. I had to stand by Fluffy and watch her eat, but got her into the kitchen while GG was in the hall. Then Fluffy expressed interest in the dry cat food. GG ran at Fluffy and Fluffy ran back out into the hall.

There were cats downstairs wanting to be fed and we were low on cat food, so I went to the store. Fluffy followed me. She has followed me clear up to the bus stop before, and I'm absolutely sure that's outside of her territory. So I don't want her following me all the way to the store. What's she going to do, come inside with me and wait in line? No, she would freak at some point and realize she was completely outside of her territory and be alone and vulnerable.

I stopped and petted her. As luck would have it a man and a kid were coming down the sidewalk. She was afraid of them and ran off. I took the opportunity to hurry away. Coming back from the store, Mask and Fluffy were waiting for me. No Patch even though he was begging for food earlier.  I fed Mask, put a bit of food out for Patch, convinced Fluffy not to eat their food. She followed me to the apartment. I fed her in by the entrance and hurried upstairs where GG was waiting. He seems to have forgiven me for feeding the other cats.
