First Rain
9Oct17
When I got up David was still on his walk. To my surprise GG aka Loudmouth had come in. It was a surprise not that GG was in the apartment but that GG had been here a good ten minutes and hadn't said a word. Yes, GG was being quiet, that is until he saw me and, "Meow, meow, meow." I had to feed him again.
Yesterday he stayed the longest he ever has, and before leaving used his kitty litter box. It was the first time he used it. David and I were elated like proud parents whose kid is finally toilet trained.
This morning it was raining. I love rain. The cats don't like it so much though. I waited for a lull in the rain and went out to feed them. They were all there. Fluffy demanding to eat first and swiping at Loper because she also wants first rights.
I went over by the tree and fed Loper and her kitten. They share a bowl. Black Tail has been hanging around lately. She is not friendly and hides in the bushes, but she needed to be fed because she came out and tried to eat Loper's food.
Bag sort of amazed me. He meowed at me twice, I guess saying he was hungry too. I always feed Bag. What was doubling amazing is he almost came close enough for me to pet him. If I had been fast enough and willing to have my arms clawed off, I could have picked him up.
Patch was begging for food but no Mask. Yesterday there had been no Patch. I just worry when the regulars don't show. So in the afternoon I took down the trash and did a search for Patch. There he was. He followed me back to the apartment. I told him if he wanted to eat, he had to come upstairs. Fluffy came up a couple of days ago and stayed long enough to eat two bites of food before running off. GG didn't like her upstairs, but they're familiar enough with each other there was no fur flying.
This morning, I went around the corner and fed Patch and asked him where his sister was. She was hiding from the rain and ran out to be fed. Fluffy appeared wanting to eat their food. She's behaving just like GG before he started coming upstairs. I picked her up and took her away from the brats' food and she followed me back to her dish which was almost empty. I gave her some more, did a quick scan. Everyone was eating -- about the only time cats are behaving. Eating and sleeping is when cats are being good.
