So much for alpha-male

16Aug17
It is rather disconcerting this morning that there was no Fluffy to greet me. She has been a regular for months now. Seeing how Patch and Mask are trying to take over her space, and how Loudmouth is always first to eat and always hanging around, and Bag is not around so much – she may sought out Bag. She would do anything for Bag even leave the security of daily morning breakfast. Maybe they went off to find new territory. Or maybe she ate some rat poison and is very sick. Or maybe she’ll be back tomorrow.
I want to care for these cats even though they’re not mine to care for.
At any rate my theory of Loudmouth being the alpha-male went out the window. The second I opened the door he bellowed “Meow, meow,” – all the way down the stairs. I was greeted by Patch and Mask, and Loudmouth who brushes against my leg and likes to be petted. I fed him first, but little Mask of all cats, tired of being fed last gave Loudmouth two quick swipes in the face with her claws. Maybe it’s because she’s a cute young thing, Loudmouth backed away from his food and wouldn’t go near it until I convinced the brats to follow me to their normal feeding spot. Or maybe Loudmouth isn’t as much alpha as he is gentle giant.
Too many maybes with these guys. I love them all and hope Fluffy and Bag come back.
