Orange can no longer escape and pick on the ferals

Only Fluffy was out this morning. She greeted me with a little meow, arched back and tail in the air. She was so hungry she forgot to be afraid of me and I reached out and touched her head before she darted back. “How dare you,” her look said. I went around the corner looking for Bag. Nowhere.
During the heat of the summer, at least once, the City puts out rat poison, which the cats eat and get sick. Our cat ate some and was sick for two weeks and even after recuperating was never the same. Feral cats are especially vulnerable to being poisoned.
I figured out why Orange hasn’t been outside bullying the ferals. His owners have the air conditioning on and are keeping the window closed. While I was figuring that out, I heard this quiet little mew. There was Mask wanting to be fed too. I put out extra for Patch, who like Bag, was nowhere to be seen.
