Is Fluffy Defying her Man?

The usual suspects were waiting for breakfast this morning. Loudmouth meowed all the way down and I fed the gentle giant first. Fluffy and Bag followed me to the tree. Usually Fluffy is the one to rub against Bag, but today Bag rubbed his head against Fluffy. Fluffy didn’t buy it, she glared at him and they stood face to face. For a second I thought they were going to hiss and yowl.

Instead Fluffy turned to her bowl and before I could put food in it, she made me pet her head. I’m not sure how much of that was wanting to be petted and how much was defying Bag. Fed Bag, and as usual at this point the brats are nosing around wanting their share. Bag, who is normally such a calm lay around the house and watch TV guy  – almost apathetic – took a couple of mean swipes at Patch.

I followed the brats around the corner and fed them. Yesterday when I went for an errand, I saw a dead gila monster on the sidewalk. It was about 4 inches long, green, with the spiny head and curved back. It’s little mouth was open and I could see its teeth and tongue. I made a point to make a wide circle around it and to avoid it when I came back. Except when I came back about 20 minutes later it was completely gone. Not a trace. I’m guessing Patch or Mask had a good meal.

Returned to the entrance the building to find Fluffy waiting for me. She wanted more petting and I obliged. But then I made the mistake of trying to scratch under her chin and she freaked and wouldn’t let me touch her again.
