Amazing Fluffy

9Sep17
Yesterday I fed the cats. Loudmouth first, Fluffy and Bag second, Loper and her baby third, and last the brats. Except Mostly was out. Fluffy wanted her head scratched, which I obliged, and has a dream that I scratch her head while she eats. There are other cats chomping at the bit to be fed.
So when I finished filling the bowls around the tree, I started toward the sidewalk at the side of the building for Patch and Mask. Except Mostly was there, and mostly didn’t like the fact the brats were hanging around in her backyard. Now this is the Mostly that usually hides out in bushes, and when Trouble was alive made herself scarce. There was a  time when she crept out of the bushes and saw Trouble looking in her direction and slowly backed up into the safety of the bushes. That Mostly. Completely out of character, Mostly made it known the brats were not welcome and chased them out of the yard, her back was arched and her fur stood up.
Patch considered fighting, but instead ran back to his sidewalk. And Mask, the one who everyday picks on her brother, and has swiped at Loudmouth completely unprovoked – that Mask. She was too scared to run, too scared to fight, and hid alongside a pot as if nobody could see her. All Mostly had to do is look in that direction and see her.
I went around the corner and fed Patch, filled up Mask’s bowl, but Mask was still hiding. I went back and saw Mostly on alert and Mask still crouched alongside the pot. I told Mask to come on. She wouldn’t move. I coaxed her out and she bounded out of the yard as fast as she could. She was really afraid of Mostly.
This morning, Mostly was nowhere to be seen. As I was putting food in Fluffy’s bowl she nudged her head against my hand and her food spilled everywhere. This was the Fluffy that two weeks ago wouldn’t let me go near her. That Fluffy. She was more interested in getting her head scratched than eating. I obliged.
Poor Bag and Loper with kitten in tow were starving. Again, Fluffy has this desired to be petted while eating, that would be like being pampered at a day spa in human terms. Loper stared at Fluffy’s food and debated whether or not to just go up and eat. So I fed the other two cats. But instead of staying at her bowl and eating, Fluffy followed me insisting on being petted. She continued to follow me as I went around the corner to feed the brats. She even went up to their bowls and made me pet her there. The brats wouldn’t go near their bowls until I went back around the corner, Fluffy by my legs demanding I stoop down every so often and pet her head. So I sat on the sidewalk and scratched her little head while she purred. Except there were ants so I went to the chair. She might be afraid of the chairs, because she wouldn’t let me pet her anymore and eventually she grew bored and decided it was time to eat. Loudmouth has no fear of the chairs and wanted me to pet him, and then told me he was still hungry so I gave him a bit more food.
I’m thinking of buying two cat brushes one for Loudmouth and one for Fluffy, they’d probably really enjoy that.
