Birthday Feedings -- Mine not theirs

8Nov17

During DST, I was feeding the cats around 7am. With the time change, I've been feeding them around 6am, which is what they've been used to. But that time seems to be too early. I was thinking the cats probably set their circadian clocks to the sun, but maybe they go by human activity. At any rate, when I go down at 6, not all the cats are there.

This morning it was Fluffy and Patch. No Bag. No Loper and her kitten. No Mask.

With GG inside, happily being petted on David's desk, I went out to feed the others. Fluffy greeted me on the steps and I sat and pet her for a few minutes. Thinking the others might be waiting, I suggested we go on down. No one was there. I fed Fluffy and Patch appeared. I took him around the corner and called for Mask. No Mask, but another stray cat appeared. He (or she) let me pet him, and I fed that guy too.

Went back upstairs, had breakfast, did my thing, and realize I don't see GG anywhere. Well, GG who used to be called Loudmouth has apparently learned to use his indoor voice. When he wants to go out, he sits quietly on the chair by the door and digs his claws in it, but doesn't say a word. I opened the door so he could go out, doesn't want to go out.

It's been about an hour, and I decided to go back down and see if anyone else needed to be fed. Sure enough, there was Loper and her kitten. Loper is kind of mean and she has scratched me in the past, but her kitten is very curious about me. I managed to touch his tail and he realized he didn't burst into flames but still is leery about any more touching. Nevertheless, he keeps coming up to me trying to figure out what kind of giant feeds him every morning when most giants ignore him and keep on walking.

Fluffy wanted to be fed again, and Mask appeared. I fed Fluffy and Mask. Of course, Patch wanted more too. He had this look on his face like, "What about me?" I fed him again. Hopefully everyone is happy now.
